It has now been a month that Sara has been with us and I can honestly say it is going better than I could have imagined it would be. Our personalities go well together, she is extremely easy-going, and she has made many friends at school and in our neighborhood. My husband and I feel honored to be hosting such an independent, outgoing, friendly, responsible, and fun student. So far the worst part of hosting an exchange student is having the worry of saying goodbye when it ends; but that won't happen for nine more months...
Our Church,
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints hosts a youth group activity each week. One week they had a Daddy-Daughter Date; Benjamin was Sara's date. Non-members are welcome to attend church and activities.

It was Benjamin's 28th Birthday on the 28th of August which makes it his 'Golden Birthday,' which means we HAD to throw him a surprise birthday party! I told Sara that she would be in BIG trouble if she spilled the secret but luckily she kept it a secret and Ben sure was surprised!

Every year our Church hosts a Mother-Daughter Picnic. I thought it would be years till I would bring my "daughter" to this activity. I was delighted that I was able to bring Sara, my "daughter," and my Mom.

| Monte wasn't happy in the photo because he didn't want to stop and pose. He was having a blast otherwise! |

Ben grew up in Spanish Fork which is about 20 minutes away from our house. The city of Spanish Fork has the BEST shaved ice you will ever have in your life. It literally will change your life. It definitely changed my life at my first bite of the ice. The ice is so smooth and served with ice cream. Divine. Ben and I decided we could not rob Sara from this Utah Culture experience so we HAD to bring her.

My Sister.(in-law, Ben's sister) got married and I had the honor of hosting her a clean and elegant Bachelorette party! At the beginning we played a game where we had to make wedding dresses out of toilet paper! It was a great ice-breaker for the beginning of the party since not everyone knew each other.
Our
Church does a "ward-walk-a-bout," every
Fast Sunday which is the first Sunday of every month during the summer. The objective of this activity is to walk around our church boundaries, socialize and eat treats! The photo is in front our home since we were one of the hosts for the walk and we served donuts that were leftover from my Sister, Kira's wedding.
